By the River

Standing by the river Jamuna
Fondly she’s thinking of Krishna
Holding a leaf blown over by the wind
She’s waitin’, she’s waitin-- she’s waitin’!

On the ghat of the river Ganga
Feverishly seeking Krishna
Hear the temple bells stoke a fire on the river…
She’s searchin’ , she’s searchin’—she’s searchin’!

Now she sits by the river Krishna
Forsaking her fight, turning to the inner light
She hears the flautist divine; and
She’s smilin’, she’s smilin’—she’s smilin’!

You, me and our own world of make-believe
Doesn't hold any water--its like a sieve--So
In all seriousness, let me suggest an escape
Dump our seriousness to let dreams take shape
In spite of what we believe what we are, and what we can be--
The limitless can't be constrained by definition, you see.
