Evening come she will...

The ardour of the day
Good Bye! Please make way, for
She comes clad in golden light
As the day gives in to the night.

Dusk, enveloping my consciousness
A hug of balmy breeze, a spirit's caress
She arrives-- suddenly, love is in the air
And I am neither here, nor there
Lost am I in those two pearls of light.
Stay beatific apparition! Never go out of sight
Stay at least till the moonbeams turn to silver your raiment
Then you can, merge unnoticed into the night
While I take comfort in your affection.
Meeting, and parting-- I perceive
Are just a divine orchestration
A play, a pull, a tweak on the strings of the heart
You are the music, you are the art
You are the idea, perfectly expressed
As I picture you-- a vision that is blessed--
Until awareness dawns, in the dead of the night
Of the sweet pain of longing that sets the heart alight.

The Evening Star

The evening star
Beautiful! Is it close, or somewhat far?
Providing perspectives to our present selves—
To tomorrow and the events in between;
Our travels into spaces—forgotten or unseen
During similar journeys into the night
Till the birth of a new day of light.

Remembering glories of the dawn that has passed
The joy-filled morning, the challenges and struggles of the noon
The onset of eve and its guests—the evening star and the moon!
Lets talk of loves that we cherish and express, even those that we treasure
And hold secret in our heart: Life gives in full measure
Take it one sip at a time, savour each moment of the bitter,
Each moment of the sweet—the show is forever on
And there is much, much more where it all came from.

Look up: there's that evening star
Beautiful! It looks close. Yet somewhat far!

Laya

Left little hand on Momma's shoulder
The other clutching a strand of her hair
Little head without a care in the world--
Baby, we have seen you everywhere.

Prostrate with my cheek to the earth
Clasping a tuft of grass in my right hand
Holding communion with the Mother I love
I continue to hold the same strand.

Tiny little being, shrieking in joy
Reassuringly retrieved from a thrillful throw
Happy within, yet unable to express
Thats the secret of the smile, we know.

I see myself smile with my inner eye
Aware of the world that we spin on
Moments of calm in between the shrieks--
I am the form that's me! And that which lives on...

By the River

Standing by the river Jamuna
Fondly she’s thinking of Krishna
Holding a leaf blown over by the wind
She’s waitin’, she’s waitin-- she’s waitin’!

On the ghat of the river Ganga
Feverishly seeking Krishna
Hear the temple bells stoke a fire on the river…
She’s searchin’ , she’s searchin’—she’s searchin’!

Now she sits by the river Krishna
Forsaking her fight, turning to the inner light
She hears the flautist divine; and
She’s smilin’, she’s smilin’—she’s smilin’!

You and Me

You, me and our own world of make-believe
Doesn't hold any water--its like a sieve--So
In all seriousness, let me suggest an escape
Dump our seriousness to let dreams take shape
In spite of what we believe what we are, and what we can be--
The limitless can't be constrained by definition, you see.

Will of God

What is yours -in truth-
Can not be taken away.
It's yours, it always was,
Forever yours it shall be!

Image of God-II

Have you
Looked into someone's eyes, and
Found yourself looking into you?
Believe me, its true
"I" am no different from "You"!
